Welcome to The Mashie—formerly the beloved Creek 9 Golf Course—where golf meets fresh energy and community spirit in the heart of Johannesburg. Nestled beside Roosevelt Park Recreation Centre, The Mashie takes over Creek 9’s legacy as one of the city’s true golfing gems, delivering a well-designed, picturesque 9-hole par-3 experience perfect for all ages and skill levels.
Whether you’re a seasoned golfer sharpening your short game or a beginner looking for a fun, accessible way to start, The Mashie offers a blend of challenge and enjoyment on a beautifully treed and tranquil course. Expect holes ranging from under 90m to just over 200m, with smooth greens, gentle slopes, and a relaxed, welcoming vibe.
We’re committed to bringing new features, exciting events, and memorable golf days. The Mashie will soon launch special programs for families, juniors, and groups, plus FootGolf and community days for everyone to join.

What facilities are available at clubhouse ?
There are toilet facilities as well as a small selection of snacks e.g. sweets and chocolates. There is no resturaunt.
Speed of Play
How long will a round take me ?
Be prepared to be patient on the course as there is a mix of experiences and beginners and not everyone plays at the same pace.

Imagine soccer meets golf in the most exciting mash-up you’ve ever played! FootGolf combines the precision of golf with the fun of football. Kick a regulation soccer ball around our beautiful 9-hole course, aiming for oversized holes in as few kicks as possible.No fancy equipment needed – just bring your energy and your A-game!
ENJOY A ROUND OF FOOTGOLF AT THE MASHIE
FOOTGOLF BASIC RULES
- Wear appropriate clothing.
- Your ball must be easy to identify.
- Review the score card and wait for your turn. Make sure your kick will not interfere with other players.
- Kick off your ball from behind the tee off markers.
- The player farthest from the hole is the first to kick the ball.
- The ball must be played in a single movement. Do NOT push or scoop the ball.
- Wait to play until the ball has completely come to rest.
- Play the ball from where it lies: you are not allowed to move the ball or remove jammed objects. Exception: you may mark the spot and lift the ball when it may obstruct the other players’ kick or ball in any way.
- The player with the best (lowest) score from the previous hole will kick off first on the next hole followed by the second and so on.
- If the ball lands in a water hazard, retrieve or replace it within 2 steps from the hazard.
